Masi brought some new winemaking areas to Valpolicella country in 1964, just like Tuscany had an influx of supertucans, and how big red blends come out of California and Washington stateside these days. They put together the classic trio of corvina, rondinella, and molinara found locally and decided not to add in any foreign grapes for a respectful and traditional sensibility. This wine shows off some notes of Valpolicella Ripasso and Amarone but offers richer fruit notes with softer tannin and acid.
