Here is a sangiovese from Montepulciano in Tuscany. As the name suggests, this wine is a little bit more refined and subtle than its cousin Chianti, showing more developed and complex fruit qualities, and stronger herbal and earthy overtones. You will be rewarded when decanting this wine, or letting it breathe plenty in the glass. I would enjoy it with our Crespelle alla Fiorentina or Pizza Giardinera for a lighter meal that will compliment this complex yet powerful red wine.
